Coppice celebrates Harvest
Well we have been busy busy at Coppice celebrating Harvest time! We have performed three Harvest festivals for our friends and family over the last two weeks of term.
On Thursday 13th October Nursery and Reception performed their Harvest Festivals to parents and carers in the hall twicel! It was very heart-warming to see so many family and friends coming to support the youngest children in the school. Well, the children didn’t disappoint and performed two fabulous songs – ‘Here’s what we do at Harvest time’ and ‘Old McDonald had a farm’. Reception shared their beautiful Harvest paintings and told everyone what they had created. Nursery acted out the story of ‘The Enormous Turnip’ and Reception used our talk for writing strategies to retell ‘The Little Red Hen’. We are amazed at how well the children did! They are simply the best!!
On Thursday 20th October Years 1 - 6 performed their Harvest Festival to a packed audience in the hall. The children impressed with fabulous singing and some excellent Harvest poems which they had written themselves! Local minister David Howe joined us for the morning and led us in our Harvest celebrations.
After each performance everyone shared refreshments and had a lovely time talking about what they had just seen! Everyone at Coppice would like to thank all parents and carers for the generous donations we have received for the Salcare food bank. You are all so kind and thoughtful. Salcare are very grateful and appreciate of your donations!
