Peer Buddy Training at Coppice!
The following children have been working extremely hard to complete their Peer Buddy training!
This will enable the children to help their peers on the playground with any of the following issues: They have nobody to play with; they are feeling lonely; they want someone to talk to; they feel like they need some advice on something or they just want someone to listen.
The children have been trained in the following areas:
- Identifying when someone needs help
- How to listen to somebody
- How to respond if someone comes across very angry
- How to give the correct advice
- How to tell how somebody is feeling through their facial expressions
The children will have a Buddy book which is where they will record all of the instances down and how they responded, this allows school staff to be able to monitor issues that are repeating themselves and ensure that the children are giving appropriate advice.
The following people are buddies and will be in Y5/6 in 2016-2017.
Sam, Joel, Dylan, William, Freddie, Ruby, Emily, Ambar, Amelia and Harriett.
Reuben, Sam, Leo, Louie, Alexia, Heidi, Tia, Ella and Tallia!
Their duty dates will be displayed on the Y6 door so if you need some help please go and see them in the designated Buddy area!
We have received a wonderful letter, from the Healthy Child Assistant Practitioner Trainers, congratulating us on our wonderful school. Click here to read it.
