Planting the seeds of
growth and

EYFS outside developments!

It has been a busy time in the Early Years outside area during the last few weeks. We have been very lucky to secure a grant from ‘Awards for All’ which is funded by the National Lottery to help us develop our outside area. Let's see what has happened so far! Make sure you keep coming back to see what we have done to make our outside area truly amazing for our children!

You will see that we have removed the stage seating and made a beautiful grassed area using astroturf so we can use it all year round!! We have just had a trim track designed and made especially for younger children. Wow, the children love this and want to play on it all the time!

We are VERY excited at the moment as we have been watching a huge wooden boat being built to go in the area opposite the sand pit. We are just waiting for the blue astro turf to be put around the boat and then we will be going on board!

We have had a new digging pit made to give the children the opportunity to develop gross and fine motor skills.

The cosy area has been given a new little wooden fence! It is so quiet in here now.

The natural area has had new bark chippings!

We are also keen in developing early gardening skills with the children and have had new planter built and have tidied up and planted new plants outside Nursery!

So far these have been amazing additions to our outside area and will provide many hours of fun for our youngest children. At Coppice Primary School we are firm believers in outdoor play and the huge benefits it gives our children.

Come back soon to see photographs of our children playing and learning in their new outside area!
