BBC Children in Need Rickshaw Challenge!

As you know it is Children in Need on Friday 15th November. There are always lots of amazing fundraising events going off around the country. One is the Rickshaw Challenge where Matt Baker, from The One Show, and a team of young volunteers set off 8 November, 2019 taking it in turns to ride the rickshaw! They will ride 400 miles, over 8 days, across Britain.

The team start in Holyhead, in Wales today, and are hoping to raise lots of money for Children in Need, as they make their way to the finish at BBC Elstree Studios.

We have found out that they are coming through Heanor on Wednesday 13th November and are very excited about this!! We would love to take the children to go and cheer on the Rickshaw team as they going from Matlock Bath to Melton Mowbray. In order for us to do this we need your permission as there will be local and national media around recording this event and so your child could be photographed or filmed. Therefore if you do not want your child to be filmed or photographed we will be unable to take them as we cannot ensure they won’t be photographed or filmed as it is a public event. They will stay in school. Also if you do not return the form below we will not be taking your child to this event.

We are not sure what time the rickshaw will be coming through Heanor and so we will be monitoring the journey it makes and will go up to Ilkeston Road when it is time!

This is a fabulous experience for the children and we hope that you agree it would be great for Coppice to go and cheer on the amazing young people doing this event!
